I love that red wall. I can see taupe all over the rest and above it or a light celery green if you are after a fresh kind of modern country. kinda lime green just very light and airy. More masculine country the taupe. Sofas can work either way just need pillows to make it sway one over the other style.

I too would paint the wall where the wallpaper is RED. What about moving your big couch to where the window is, put the tv against the big wall....get a longer table console. IF you are trying to go for the country look- your pillows and blanket it don't work. I would get heavy material for your drapes....black rods- like your lamps, above the windows, and bring the material down to the floor. Material with a design- with RED in it! Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by my room. You said you took the green wallpaper off and wondered what to do there. Have you thought about a shade of tan or taupe? I would do the rest of the room in it too. It would make the red/white wall really pop. I think it is so hard to pick the perfect paint color. You also asked about my dining room wall. When we moved here it was very dark paneling so I painted it taupe. Adds to the country look. Just keep playing around with your room ~ you will get it together !

Sorry I took so long to respond... I dont get on RMS too much lately. The Floor is a red oak with an antique finish, a little bit " creamier " than a clear coat. it is about 7 years old. I would suggest a distressed finish rather than a "furniture" finish due to the fact that it dings very easy, The wall color was a mistake, when we put it on it was too orange so we added black and green to get this color... I hope this helps.

I think the staircase wall should be painted all red, except for the top of the railing. It kind of looks like a barn door, which I am sure is not your intent. LOL. You are off to a good start. I would get solid panels for the windows. Maybe red to hang on each side of the window. But something simple. Maybe some bamboo blinds for privacy.
