Your rooms are gorgeous and there are so many beautiful things that you did that I hardly know where to start with the complements!! Love how the drapery adds texture and matches the wall color, the arch with the antique demilune, the painted mullions that disappear at night, the ceiling beams, the plastered fireplace, your chandelier....everything is lovely.

@ CDWoodward....Thank you. There's a couple reasons for the difference in painting shapes. I placed the horizontal paintings around the room to create several horizontal lines to match the lines of the furniture, drapery rods, baseboards, etc. It keeps your eye moving around the room. The draperies form vertical lines around the room. The niche and fireplace are vertical lines on a wall with no drapes. The painting is the only punch of color on that wall and I wanted it to follow that same vertical line. Also, I thought i looked really good there.

I love it and gave you 5 stars. IMO, the room looks warm and inviting. Love the monochromatic colors with the pop of color in the pillows and accessories. I do have a question because I'm not a designer. The pictures all seem to be horizontal in shape, except for the one in the niche. Is there a design reason? Thanks! Again, love it!

These rooms are great , do not understand why someone would pick out stuff on the room when you can tell that everything is perfect, bravo to you for outstanding job!

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. It's a work in progress and I can use all the help I can get. The reason for the different windows covers is because the window with the shade has antique mouldings and a pediment on top (picture 3. It's original to the house (built in 1927 and I didn't want to cover it up. The fabric is the same color as the mullions and chair and kind of ties things together. The rug is a thick shag that is regular carpet I had bound as a rug. It is one shade darker than the walls to anchor the room and because I have 2 dogs it's easier to keep clean.

The rustic part is in the dining room. The black table against the window is forged black iron and has the hammer marks on it.The dining table is a refrectory table that is made from old timbers and has the scrapes and marks from years of use. The pictures are not great for showing color. Sorry about that. Actually, there is a lot of color in the room in the paintings, the pillows I have on the sofa and the topiaries on the black table. It's still a work in progress but thanks for your suggestions. I really appreciate them.
