About This Space

Last year, I won the "Designer in You" contest, on MSN. I was so thankful to win a $5000 Visa gift card and redid my living room on that budget. I love contemporary design, but also want it to be livable. I live in a small, conservative, Pennsylvania town, so the design I chose for my home is WAY out of the box. I went with a pallet of black, gray and ivory, with Brazilian cherry floors. I wanted a very neutral space, where I could change accent colors. I am not an interior designer but dream of being one. In addition, I thrive on low-budget design. The most expensive piece, in my living room, is the black leather and polished steel chair, which was about $1800... Other than that, EVERYTHING, from the sofa to the wallpaper was inexpensive. I believe having a beautiful, dramatic space has far more to do with being creative, mixing styles and textures, than spending a ridiculous amount of money.
