About This Space

We moved into this house about 6 months ago. The walls, built-ins and trim were painted almond. We freshened everything up with white paint and gathered our favorite pieces of furniture (since this is the only non-kid space in the house!. I had been searching for mid-century armless chairs and, just by luck, stopped by a local consignment shop and found a pair of Norwegian 1970s leather armless chairs. I was thrilled! Mostly everything else has come from flea markets or family pieces (like the blanket chest. I was really excited about the bookshelves when we moved in, but decorating them has been more challenging than I expected. I want to rearrange them everyday but have been resisting the urge to do so.

WoW, can I come over ?! I love that the flea market and family pieces can be used in this room, go you ! This room is easy on the eyes and cool !

Thanks fab3798. I do agree with you on the end tables and the rug. The tables were a steal at a flea market for 5 bucks and I loved the bamboo base, so I couldn't resist, even thought they're not right for the space. I will maybe change them out when i find something l like more. same with the rug..got a great deal on is and i loved the deep purple shade. thank you for your comments. I do have more rooms coming, finishing up two bathrooms (hopefully by the weekend!

Great score on those chairs - they are beautiful and your color sense is really nice (picking up the reds and turquoise here and there - and I think your shelves are very well done. If I were to quibble, I'd say your end tables are too insubstantial for the rest of what is in the space, and the rug is a bit too narrow, but all in all, a really nice room (and are there more rooms coming? I also really like your kitchen and exterior repaint.
