Haha yeah the desk is sad. It has just been utilitarian because of all my ridiculous computer stuff. Do you think a nice rich wood corner desk would look good in that corner? I have a thing for corner desks. :] I will check out CL I hadn't thought of it!

I've recently discovered Craig's List. I see really nice desks on it all the time for under $50.00. You could sell your old coffee table on there too...:

I just bought a round ottoman to use as a coffee table. Take a look at my post "Made Some Changes" to see it. It only cost a little over $100.00 and it works great in a tight space so knees aren't bumped. You can set a tray on it for drinks when you need to. It would be perfect for your space.

Thanks for your feedback guys! I have given some thought to painting a wall or two but wasn't sure what color would be best. As for the clutter the apartment is small and I do a fair amount of entertaining so I am trying to make the most of the space.I really liked the idea of the area rug I hadn't thought of that. I am trying to figure out something to do with that coffee table it doesn't seem to fit. :/

The room is too cluttered. The fireplace should be the focal point but it's not. The desk and table should be in another room. Too many things are happening in this room. I was looking for more appearance with the colors of brown and sky blue but only one piece of blue is in the room. The walls need some colors. I give this space a rating of one out of ten.

This is looking good. I'd scoot the loveseat forward just a bit to bring it closer to the sofa and enlarge the walkway from the front door. You also might add an area rug under the coffee table to visually anchor that space. Also hopefully one day you can swing changing out your folding table for a wood desk and eliminating the plastic drawers. They kind of ruin the warm sophisticated feel of the space. Finally the lamp on the desk/table is too large scale to use as a desk lamp. I'd like to see it in your living area on an end table between your sofas.
