Here is my before and after and a few pics of my living room. We tore out the old carpet, painted the floor a beautiful sea green/blue and bought the area rug. Now what type of sofa?

Thank you #Kleentx for the ideas we are looking to buy a new sofa in cranberry or a dark purple. Will post pics later. And yes the space is cold right now, thanks for the ideas!

I love the floor and that gorgeous rug! However, your sofa, walls and fireplace are all very light colored. I would suggest a darker sofa to add some warmth to the space. Something like a chocolate brown, a cinammon or a sage green (if that color is in your rug. Sometimes folks tend to think that if they purchase a sofa in a neutral color it will be more versatile, but instead the sofa tends to be more bland in the room. In reality almost any color can be a neutral depending on how you accessorize it.
