  • Pottery Barn inspired nursery, We did this room for our daughter about 2 years ago. All the bedding and some accessories came from Pottery Barn kids. The furniture is from Babies r Us. We installed new crown moulding and trim and painted the walls a purple color that we had matched from a magazine. We wanted something that wouldn't have to be re-done as she got into her toddler years. , Nurseries Design

  • Horizontal Stripes and Polka Dots for Girls: Pink, Teal, Lime, Tan, Two little princesses started with a plain light gray room. With the purchase of new bunk beds & new polka dot bedding, we needed something girly to jazz up the new space. We taped off horizontal stripes to coordinate, and the attached bath uses polka dots in the coordinating colors and the same princess theme. It uses bubble gum pink, lime green, light teal/turquoise, and tan/khaki. The wall of baskets was pricey but is invaluable storage for toys and such. The whole project was kid-friendly and fun and on a budget., Girls' Rooms Design

  • Lime green girls room, I LOVE diy projects!!! Took an old $40 desk and refinished it to match the room. Used striped fabric to make the valance, cover the ottoman and curtains surrounding the fake window. Used masking tape to stripe a plain white lamp base. Painted the canvas drawings near the real window. , Girls' Rooms Design

  • Gracey's Garden Patio, My grandaughter Gracey (4) loves to work in her garden more than anything else in the world. When they moved into their new house last month I talked my daughter into letting me design her room so it would be full of flowers ladybugs butterflies etc. We used lattice around the bottom of the walls. We did brick wallpaper on the window wall and make the window look as if it were an outside window with shutters and a canopy. We also added the flower sill to the window. , Girls' Rooms Design

  • Tween bedroom, I created this space for my 11 and 12 year old daughters. It is a 12x12 room that had to function as a bedroom, dressing room, and a hang out space for their friends when they came over. I asked them what colors they wanted (Brown, Green, and Blue) and what feel they wanted, one wanted it to feel like a spa the other wanted it to be a little more sophisticated. This is what I came up with., Girls' Rooms Design

  • Jessica's bedroom, I created this bedroom for for my niece, Jessica, who lives with my brother. he is a single parent and just got full custody of her this past summer. The main wall is purple. the other three walls are lime green. We used old furniture that he already had. I painted the chair red and found the 5 by 7 green rug at a close out price of 32.50 with free shipping. The bedding is recycled from one of my kids. i bought the flannel sheets at Target for 20.00 and the green pillow for 14.00. the dog poster and frame came from Hobby Lobby., Girls' Rooms Design

  • Kitty & Emme's Purple & White Room, We designed this room around our two little girls favorite colors, light purple and dark purple. I love to recycle furniture that most people would consider trash, not because I'm cheap but because it's my way of being green. Less in the land fills and less trees killed. Yeah, my husband calls me a tree hugger! The bunk beds are old and have been through 2 sets of rough boys. My sister was going to throw them away, it took lots of work and time to get them to look this good. they were a awful dated stained color and the boys carved their names into them. I added bead board to the front of the little dresser. Pretty much everything in the room was once something else or used for something else except for the bedding and curtains. The iron work on the walls were curtain holders, I painted them and added the chandelier crystal. I'd say we have less then $500 in the room including the crown molding, base boards, trim boards, lighing, pretty much everything you see. Let me know what you think., Girls' Rooms Design

  • Abby's Pink & Green Garden, I wanted my daughter's room to be sophisticated yet whimsical. The colors are bright and the fabrics all coorespond with the pink and green color combination that I love! I designed and decorated the entire room myself - and had the tuffet made the make-up table and the curtains sewn (I can not sew). Her room was featured on View From The Bay (a local SF TV Show in Jan of '06). You can see the clip at www.jamiespnd.comJamie Lentznerwww.jpd.typepad.comwww.jamiespnd.com, Girls' Rooms Design
