  • CasaCarroll Kitchen Remodel 2008, Here is the before and after pictures of our remodeled kitchen. We went from 1980's country (complete with a early 80's double oven stove) with oak cabinets to a modern kitchen with a traditional feel that also mixes in contemporary elements. We love it!, Kitchens Design

  • Spiced up Powder Room Remodel, My husband and I did most of the work on our remodel ourselves. We did hire a pro to install the 16" travertine stone floor. (We were thrilled to be able to use remnants from our kitchen remodel. The colors I chose for the bathroome are the boldest in our home, but I love them. I wanted this little room to make a statement. Our vanity, which we purchased from Lowes, is dark cherry wood from Kraft Maid. The top is quartz. I purchased the Delta antique bronze faucet and towel rack online, as well as the craftsman style knobs, pulls and paper holder. The light fixture was from a Hinckley lighting outlet store in town. The rest of the decor and artwork I found in my travels. Three walls are painted in Waverly's "Rose of Copper", and the wall facing the vanity is painted in Waverly's "Cider," which is a burnt orange color. As you can see, I like to mix design styles. I am very happy with how my powder room turned out even if I did step outside my color palette comfort zone!, Bathrooms Design

  • Details in Decoupage Floors, Think a decoupage floor has to be plain? How about some nice detailing, also in paper, to add a finishing touch to a room. The overall coloring of the paper was tone on tone but I could use any coloring. This was a basement renovation and this flooring resembled the inlaid wood pattern upstairs in the living room., Living Rooms Design

  • Kitchen Design Gridlock, We moved into our house six years ago. We put down Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, painted the cabinets, replaced the cabinet hardware and added handmade window treatments. Otherwise, we haven't been able to agree on what to do next. We know the kitchen needs updating - the ceramic tile counters are chipping and falling off and the cabinets are coming away from the walls and ceiling. The appliances are broken more often than they are working. David wants to do black honed granite with cherry cabinets and a travertine backsplash with black appliances. I want to do white cabinets with grey/white granite or marble countertops and a white subway tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances. We would love your thoughts on which is the best way to go. After five years of being seriously ill and recently learning I have a severe wheat allergy, I am finally feeling better than ever and excited to do some great wheat/gluten free cooking in our new kitchen and would like to agree on what to do and get this remodel done. Thanks for your thoughts!, Kitchens Design

  • Hardwood Flooring? Naaah, it's DECOUPAGE!, Decoupage is such a versatile process. I really had fun creating a hardwood floor look with Kraft paper and paint. The client wanted the whitewashed look but also wanted some variation in the color from plank to plank so it looked more natural. The paper "planks" are butted up against each other so it is super smooth, no wrinkles either. A satin sealer gives the sheen of a real hardwood floor. , Living Rooms Design

  • Decoupaged Checkerboard Floors, This basement renovation included the bathroom/laundry room. Freshly painted, the white washer and dryer, along with the cabinetry, go perfectly with the crisp style of checkerboard. The cement floor was smooth but not super level, which is no problem for decoupage! Once finished, it's easy to damp mop clean with no grout line or cracks between tiles to catch dirt., Other Spaces Design
