  • Facelift for Masterbath, Although this was a small outdated, dark master bath and has recently undergone a renovation. There were many inspirations, mostly from designers and photo's across the web. We were going for a bright, clean, contemporary look; inspired by a spa-like feel and earthly accent tones., Bathrooms Design

  • Ikea Remodel, We remodeled our kitchen. We saved a ton of money with Ikea cabinets with open kick plates and dressed them up with granite counters that wrap on the end, a bad-ass Kohler faucet and Electrolux appliances. To soften the modern edges, we used porcelain tile and cracked white subway tile accents. I think the overall look is very successful, suits us perfectly, and complements our house. , Kitchens Design

  • Powder Room Asian-Style, I had planned to use grasscloth in this room, but could not because of the bullnosed wall edges. So I had my faux painter create a stencil from an Asian screen motif I found online. This design was stenciled over a base coat, then the entire room was glazed to soften the appearance. The girandole (mirror with attached sconces) is from Fine Art Lamps, the fixtures are from the Kohler Memoirs collection, the lamp is from Speer Collectibles, the Bombay chest is vintage Henredon, and the glazed platter on stand is from Chelsea House., Bathrooms Design

  • Master Bath Makeover , Like most cookie cutter builder bathrooms with large, unused bathtubs, this bathroom was in need of a redo. The goal was to make it feel like a hotel bath or spa and that goal was certainly achieved. This was my first bath and it was completely DIM (myself) - both design and build - except I had a friend help with the shower pan. We also used epoxy grout for the shower pan which is a two person job as well - and highly recommended., Bathrooms Design

  • Elegant Master Bedroom/Bathroom Remodel, The master bedroom/bathroom in our 1986 builder grade home was in great need of an update and reconfiguration of the space.

Our GC did a fabulous job of transforming our vision for the room into reality. We re-allocated space from one closet into an expanded shower/toilet area; added a second walk-in closet in an under-utilized portion of the bedroom which also created a new wall for our wall-mounted flatscreen t.v.; added a gorgeous new custom vanity with White Carrara Marble countertop; updated the small windows on each side of the vanity to rain glass for privacy; changed out the two front bedroom windows to three efficient, single-hung windows; added radiant heated 18"x18" porcelain floor tile in American Olean Coliseum White; shower floor is AO Coliseum White mosaic; shower wall subway, harlequin, and classic tile is from the Daltile Rittenhouse Square series; and faucets, hardware, sink and toilet are from the Kohler Devonshire series.

I've laid out the following fifteen photos in a before/after sequence., Bathrooms Design

  • What's Up With That Bathroom?, Outdated, inefficient use of space, and a tub that's too large for the bay window. Actually, the master bathroom was top of the line in the early 90's with heated floors, steam shower, and jetted tub. The bay window also has custom stained glass windows in an art-deco style. However, the shower is 3'x5', we have to close the door to turn on the lights and open the door to open drawers. The tub must have been picked out after the space was designed. Although it's a fabulous Kohler jetted tub, it sticks out into the middle of the room. There's also a wall that has no cabinets, mirrors or sensible use. My husband refers to the bathroom entry as a "tunnel". We think there is great potential and would love to hear suggestions!, Bathrooms Design

  • Out with the OLD (bath) in with the NEW (bath), The previous masterbath had carpeting, a VERY large whirlpool tub, two 30" cabinets on left and right of tub, a very small corner shower and toilet that was also in a corner. Solution for remodel required space planning to achieve more storage, larger shower (for tall user), and better sized whirlpool tub. Finishes chosen include Merillat cabinetry; Kohler faucets, sink, tub. The art on wall is from Pier One. To answer the question about the Demi Lav by Kohler. I really do like the way this sink functions with the Symbol faucet. , Bathrooms Design

Bathroom fixtures, porcelain and brushed nickel, are from Kohler. Medicine cabinets are from Robern. • Traditional Bathroom with some modern flair, This was a master bedroom that was turned into a bathroom. It has a custom zebra wood cabinet with Toto Sinks, the Kohler Tub has a pass through glass door which allows you to step out of the tub and right into the shower. The shower and bathroom floor has a blended hexagon tile with the wall tiles being a more neutral brick like stone. It also has a closet with custom bookshelf cabinets instead of closet doors. , Bathrooms Design
