  • Taking our kitchen into the 21st century!, We bought our home in1992 and haven't done anything to update the kitchen since. Although its functionality was good, it was very dated. Please, let me know what you think and if there are suggestions to make it better, I would love to hear from you!, Kitchens Design

  • A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Contemporary Kitchen, This former dining room in an 1895 house was converted into a light and airy kitchen to reflect the home's beachy locale. With white cabinets and appliances and an ivory herringbone backsplash, the kitchen now has better flow to the living room and style to boot! Yellow accents finish off the space., Kitchens Design

  • Georgia Gem Kitchen, Kitchen Remodel I completed this year in my home. The kitchen was very small so I had to open up the pantry and close off the hallway gap to extend the kitchen counter. The granite and lighting also wrap around to extend the kitchen and make it seem bigger. Although I would have loved to, I didn't salvage anything from this old kitchen. I took on 90% of the remodel work myself on this one., Kitchens Design

  • Our $650 Kitchen Makeover, The hubs and I recently moved into a 175 year old house and couldn't wait to get our hands to work. First order of business was giving some attention to the kitchen which had recently (5 years?) been redone in a Tuscan type theme. While new appliances are on the agenda (read not in the current budget) and the dinosaur of a microwave will be replaced with an over-the-range one, we spent a total of $650 in here and did all of the work ourselves with the exception of the "soapstone" countertops which my brother who does millwork crafted for us. We are pretty pleased with the way it turned out., Kitchens Design

  • No budget ~ Rental, The very worn 1970's, very dark kitchen cabinets that no longer close properly were driving me crazy. I took off the cabinet fronts, painted the back using a brick red I pulled from my dishes and Voila.. an updated look for $15.

This is a rental that we are making home for only a year while my husband completes a work assignment., Kitchens Design

  • Floor to Ceiling Transformation, Originally, a G-shaped kitchen that basically divided my kitchen in half & only used 1/2 the space. I have totally gutted it, designed a new layout that would utilize the entire space. Created a lot more storage, along with more convenient functions, like pull out drawers, single basin sink & taller faucet. New floor, more lighting that I installed myself. I had a very small budget but I feel I got a "Bang For Your Bucks". And even though I've designed every inch of it and had a pretty good idea of how everything would look, the finished project actually turned out much more beautiful than I ever imagined. This has been a very rewarding experience.

  • 1940's Cottage Kitchen Make-Over, This 1940's kitchen make-over took the small original galley kitchen and dining room and opened up the two rooms as one large functional eat-in kitchen. With custom made cabinets and a distressed island, the new kitchen is quaint, relaxed, and perfect for entertaining. White subway tiles, a farm house sink, window seat, book shelves, and an old barn door as focal points, this new kitchen is a breath of fresh air. , Kitchens Design
