This kitchen used to be dark cherry cabinets UGH! It was so dreary in here and it made me depressed to cook in it. There is no window so that didn't help either. I took off the upper doors to paint and ended up loving it. I like to see my stuff....LOL.

I bought this house for $600 dollars at a tax sale auction and set out to remodel and redo it with a very small amount of money! It has been redone with free, recycled, repurposed items with paint being the only major expense! I searched all over town and hit curb piles, had friends, neighbors and whoever I could talk into keeping a look out.. watch for discarded items. Soon, people began to bring me things they thought might look good in my house! No area was free from scrounging, including the city compost pile where people dumped amazing treasures!

Our house is not large but it's all we need. I spent a couple years planning our kitchen and it's ALMOST perfect...for us that is: Thanks for taking a peek!

I bought this house 7 months ago for 600 dollars. It was marked for demolition as it was a complete mess but the structure was sound! Just needed cleaning and updating. It is far from finished but here are the before and after photos of what it is now

Look at the "before" pictures please. Opinions wanted! My kitchen is slowly but surely looking better. For under $90 I got hardware, primer, paint, and painted my cabinets this weekend. The paint is Behr "Almond Cream" which is off-white. I wonder if I should get stainless, black, or white appliances. It was this or $3K for new cabinets.

we purchased this 50 y/o home last fall. most of the home with the exception of the kitchen had been beautifully renovated by the previous owners. we loved the house but hated the kitchen. as you can see in the before shots it was very tiny. we decided to remove the wall between the kitchen and formal living room to create an open more usable space for our family. we now plenty of storage lots of room to cook eat and visit.

This space was completely taken down to the studs and remodeled. What is now bar used to be the dining area. All of the cabinets are built from African Mahogany. The counter tops are Cambria quartz, and the floor is a laminate. All new stainless steel appliances were also intalled.

We turned a small bedroom into our kitchen. Since it was on the small side we used as much vertical space as possible for storage and added an island to increase counterspace. We took out the left wall to create an open kitchen/dining area. (dining area not pictured here.

This is a re-post of my kitchen with all the crown molding done. My very talented husband installed all of it!
We were the GCs on our new home, built about 18 months ago. We did all the interior framing, the electrical, and all the finish work. It was crazy but so worth it!
Incidentally, I have tried deleting some of these photos since there are SOOO many but the system says they've been deleted and they're still there! Sorry, guys, not intentional. :-/

When we bought this house the kitchen had white walls shiny white tile floors and backsplash green laminate countertops and cherry stained cabinets that had seen better days. It was also closed off from the adjacent family room. We opened up the wall between the two rooms replaced the tile with hardwood enlarged the island replaced the laminate with granite and painted and distressed the cabinets added bead board and a home office.

A sleek, open contemporary design with a primary focus on our Japanese Garden and koi pond and a secondary focus on storage. The duel color cabinets are united with a dark crown molding. Necessity dictated that the kitchen blend with the living room as well as the' Niwa' (garden room. A strict budget required very careful shopping online.

With the last appliance purchased and installed...we finally finished the kitchen redo we did ourselves! Our small, dated early 90's kitchen got a makeover, turning it into a light, bright warm frenchy kitchen that I now love. Cabinets were stripped, sanded, painted creamy white and antiqued with dark brown glaze, granite countertops and all stainless appliances installed. Island stained dark mahogany for contrast.
