This is our final space. I've posted several times, asking for suggestions. I changed the rug, purchased a roman shade and changed the table decoration. I am happy with the perfect mix of my husband's love for contemporary, and mine for traditional and country. We will be getting new mouldings this summer!

We wanted something crisp, fresh and bright to greet us in the morning, so we used lemons as our jumping off point. White cabinets with updated hardware and glass tile keep it modern while the butcher block counters keep it earthy. Our pendant lights are inspired by vintage, coastal industrial lights and the striped curtain reminds us of a cabana.

After looking in magazines, and watching many decorating shows, we finally did our dream kitchen. This is the first home we have ever purchased, as my husband was a Navy pilot. We lived on the Navy base most of his career, or rented. It's nice to finally have something that is all mine. Now that we bought a house, I can have fun making it a " HOME " :
We just did a complete kitchen remodel...it was done the week before x-mas. Everything was custom done....maple and cherry was used. We chose ivory with a chocolate glaze and chocolate brown with a black glaze. All the lighting is custom...each display shelf is lit, we have under cabinet lighting, and a chandalier over the island. Everything is on dimmers. Our backsplash is a combination of stone and glass. We have a Perrin and Rowe, by Rohl, faucet. We have a Kohler apron sink. Our appliances are paneled, and they are KitchenAid. Our granite is " Giallo Ornamental "...and it has a ogee edge. We have a bar/coffee area. We have double ovens, microwave and warming drawer. Our drawers are all slow close. We have double trash cans that pull out, and a lazy susan. We used oil rubbed bronze for the hardware. We did a pantry/laundry room as well...everything custom there too. We even added a special area for our kitty...for her liter box and water/food bowls. ( she is part of the family too!!
UPDATE: here are some answers to questions you all asked. The paint color is called Sauteed Mushroom, by Olympic paints. Our flooring is travertine..classic tan. ( done in a french pattern . The chandalier over the island is by Golden Lighting, ( # 8606-10 RBZ it's oil rubbed bronze.

My kitchen style fits around my nearly 60 year old Chambers stove. The wallpaper up close looks old newspaper. The cabinets are old but in good condition so just painted and added "silverware" pulls. I want to add an apron/farm sink and put up a beadboard or tile ceiling.

My husband remodeled our small track home kitchen. He used existing cabinets - made new doors refinished and stained all to a walnut shade. He built all the cabinetry in the peninsula. We couldn't afford granite but instead used WilsonArt HD which has a texture to it. I love our glass minature subway tile back splash and our huge farm sink! This all started because I wanted a double oven!!

We weren't sure if there were hardwood floors under the 50's linoleum, but we lucked out. The kitchen was taken down to the studs, and completed on a budget. Bought appliances through Ebay and Craigslist. Cabinets are custom. Honed granite and subway tiles. I hope you like the transformation.

I got the idea for this “laundry” cabinet from a 2002 Southern Living magazine (yes I kept it that long I never throw them out. My husband is a police officer and one of his coworkers builds cabinets for extra money. The most expensive part was the washer and dryer. The other cabinets I ordered from a catalog.

This is a basic kitchen from a tract home. There are no good architectural elements in here for sure. Oak cabinets are 20 years old as was the countertop. With the help of my hubby, he made the crown molding on the tops of the cabinets, I painted and glazed all the cabinets, we added beautiful granite, new sink, and oil rubbed bronze faucet. We still need to add braided trim on the cabinets as the granite didn't cover as far down as the old formica did. Well, I love my space now and I am cooking up a storm.

Yesred and yellow again! These rooms all flow together. This is'nt my dream kitchen but it will do. Would love to have granite and wood in here but we were on a budget. I am going to add a little more stain on the cabinets to age them a little more. This room is a little more country french .I do like roosters! Thanks Kristen
