  • Love my new kitchen, Finally a kitchen with some counter space! Just need a bigger breakfast set!To answer some questions this is ubatuba granite and I've added pictures of the under cabinet lighting...which is the same above the cabinets. The walls are a faux finish glaze/plaster technique...I do not know the color. It is actually the same as the living room. I also have the automatic dustpan vacuum thing...which I LOVE! Thanks for your kind comments!, Kitchens Design

  • 20 yr. old kitchen w/o new cabinets, When we moved in 6 years ago we added hard wood floors to match the rest of the house and replaced the pink counters with granite. Since then we have changed the handles and knobs painted the room again and have most recently changed the backsplash which made a big difference for $300. I'm thinking about adding an arched mirror above the sink. What do you think?, Kitchens Design

  • Pinnacle of Design BEFORE PHOTOS ADDED!, You have to really see the "before" to truly appreciate our kitchen now. It was UGLY! Now we have stacked cabinetry that draws the eye to the peak of the cathedral ceilings with soft cream-colored raised-panel doors and a classic beaded inset frame featuring magnificent molding flutes columns pilasters keys and corbels. This is our dream kitchen and we researched for over a year to find the "right fit" of a contractor and designer to make our vision a reality. They nailed it!, Kitchens Design

  • DIY rebuild changed everything!, The gray/blue countertop tile I installed 22 years ago was the last update I had made to our kitchen. I began this total makeover mid June 2011 and my 8 week plan working nights, days off and weekends turned into 16 weeks, but I couldn't be happier with results. I didn't build the cabinets, but painted them. All other work I did...demolition, walls, floors, electrical, design, appliance install, etc. Brother in-law helped on weekends. Children helped pen the cabinet lines. My wonderful wife gave me full creative control and put up with a whole lot of dust, clutter and mess. I am a photographer by trade, but also joke "jack of all trades...master of none!" We couldn't be happier with the results! Hope you enjoy!, Kitchens Design

  • Shabby Chic kitchen on a budget, I wanted an island in my kitchen but didn't have the means to have one built. Recently I put an old chest of drawers in the middle of the room to make an island. I eventually plan to get a piece of marble to put on top but for now I'm just using the dresser top. I redid my kitchen a couple of years ago with paint and new flooring and had the shelves built. It's light bright and cheerful., Kitchens Design
