  • kitchen that needs help, Well, a while back my step-dad installed (by hand) all the tile and grout you see. The cabinets were painted white and it was beautiful. Over the years, the grout has become "uncleanable" and always looks dirty. The grout has seperated and is cracking in many places and it just says "HELP!'   • Countertop Ideas - Please Help, Sorry for the poor quality photo. I am a single guy with no design experiance or ability. I am in the middle of remodeling my kitchen and just had the heart pine floors uncovered and redone. Now i am onto the countertops and have no idea what type or color to get. I am going to leave the cabinets white (and change the doors on them). I am going for a clean, simple, and casual feel. Probably dont want black or dark countertop.   • Riot of colors- HELP!, Our kitchen was renovated before we bought our house 7 years ago, and there are so many different colors in the floor tiles, cabinets, and granite countertops, that we are at a loss as to what color to paint the walls. Right now they are off-white and in desperate need of some paint. We have two skylights in the space, so it gets plenty of natural light. See my other space uploads for pics of whole room.   • Wallpaper OOPS!!!, I have FINALLY got all the wallpaper down from my kitchen. The 3 pictures I have posted have 'torn' sheetrock. My question is....has anyone used Zinsser's GARDZ to help with the 'patching' process? I have never used it, normally I would just use drywall mudd and sand, but someone recommended to use this first. Any comments would be appreciated!!!   • From 70's to yawnsville!, When I purchased this home it had your typical 70's kitchen complete with brown and orange checked wallpaper, wood-like laminate countertops and backsplash, and a table which was bolted to the wall and resembled a diving board. Other features included a yellow linoleum floor, cabinets which showed signs of having been painted yellow, lime green, hot pink, and white at some time in the past. The seriously funky light fixture and avacado sink just added to the 70's vibe. I took down the wallpaper, tore up the linoleum, and painted the cabinets and walls. I was delighted to find original hardwood floors under the linoleum, but that's where the good news ends. It's no longer 70's but it has absolutely no personality. HELP!, Kitchens Design
