We recently built a new Ryan home. We love our home, but Ryan is a production builder and if you want to customize anything, it needs to be done after you move in. We are just beginning some improvements to our "new" kitchen. We currently have a large island which we are going to make slightly larger to include an additional overhang for more seating, replace our laminate countertops with a beautiful antique brown granite, add a marbled tile backsplash, build a soffit on the ceiling to hold pendant lights and almost forgot, move our island about 6 inches. Although more expensive, we hired a contracter to manage the process (and to oversee a few other projects in our house). I would love feedback on what type of tile feature to put above our cooktop. Because there is a microwave above the cooktop, there isn't a lot of room to be real creative. I was thinking about something from the sumi-e glass tile collection to add some color, but I don't want it to be too busy. I also can't decide on what type of drawer pull/knobs. The finish will be oil rubbed bronze to match out new faucet, but I don't know if I should go with circle knobs, the cups or handles. I'll post after pictures when the project is done in about 4 weeks.
