Cabinets are painted, 30.00 worth of paint, added hardware to them with hardware purchased from ebay, 50.00,new lighting, 200.00 to the light above the table as well as the chandy above the sink, wall paint, 13.00, kitchen chairs, were off of either wayfair or overstock, and obviously not mandatory to stay if I move, I honestly don't remember which. They were on sale, I will see if I can find what I paid for them, kitchen table- 30.00, craigslist, over the range microwave, also a craigslist find- 45.00, kitchen faucet, overstock, 70.00, ribbon to personalize the light above the table, the shade over the window, etc. 5.00, wall words, 15.00, Hobby Lobby. Then end result, a million times better than the before!!!!! So that equates out to 473.00 that are not moveable.....but minimal considering. So from the rental aspect, it's a 473.00 minor reno that benefits all.....worth it, yes!

You do better with a rental than most people do in their owned home. How much did you spend total: blinds, backsplash, paint, microwave, hardware, light, accessories? (Is that rude? I'm asking because I have a hunch you're frugal and proud!!

The houndstooth and green ribbon make the drum shade look custom...and adding the green ribbon to the other items tie it all together. It's amazing what you've done considering what you had to start with. 5 stars for creativity and your hard work to turn a lemon into lemonade!

Thank you! When I look at the last picture, "the before I moved here, version," I can't believe how awful it was! The backsplash is made from bamboo blinds! LOL, that's what I already had to work with--- Right now it is painted white. I used Rust Oleum Metallic white!
