You might call this kitchen retro! Really, it is an outdated, striped kitchen with very old appliances. The looks of this kitchen isn't the only thing wrong with it! It might be original to the 1950's house!

Yikes, This is like the kitchen my grandmother thought was wonderful when she updated hers in the 40's......Give this poor family a new more functional, up to date kitchen.

I had a kitchen like this.....40 years ago!!! There isn't anything I see that I wouldn't get rid of. She needs a complete gut and startover. This would be a good kitchen for hgtv to makeover.

Is this out of the 60's or 70's. It's worse than the kitchen I grew up in. Lots of potential though!!! They need an update like now!!!!

Our Remodeled Modern Kitchen, My husband and I purchased our very first home and could not help but get right to work. We sanded and painted all the cabinetry, updated the appliances and constructed a really functional pantry. We also removed the tile and replaced it with a pecan laminate. Large Room....Small Budget, When we bought our house I fell in love with the size and set up of the kitchen. It was VERY outdated. The tile floor looked like what you find in a fastfood restaurant bathroom. The cabinets were very dark and the island didn't match. We kept the rustic cedar beams and door but otherwise completely gutted it and shopped very wisely since it is a 21'X14' kitchen. We managed to get a good deal on APC (all plywood construction) cabinets and got a rebate that we used to pay for our granite countertops. I love having the large island where we can eat as a family or my kids can do their homework. I also really like having a desk in the kitchen with my computer so that I can electronically store all of my recipes. I second guessed all of my choices but in the end I am very excited with the outcome and love spending time in the kitchen!
