My husband ripped out all of our upper cabinets and replaced them with open shelving. The final touch was the floors which thanks to hurricane Ike we now have!

I love what you have done with your kitchen! I am also in love with the open shelving concept in the kitchen too. It is great seeing what you have done in your kitchen as someday I hope to do the same thing. The black cabinets looks amazing. You and the DH did a fantastic job on your kitchen and yes it does look like pages from the PB catalog! FIVE STARS!

BJ- Thank you your words are so sweet! The lamp is from Marshalls. My mom had bought it and then decided she didn't want it. Hubby brought it home and set it there- and it ended up staying : I love Pottery Barn too but can't afford it. Hubby copies from their catalogs and built all of our bookcases and the kitchen shelves to mimic the PB look. After the hurricane we were able to tear out the carpet in the back of the house and put hardwoods through the entire house. I love the warmth the wood brings into our home. Thanks for touring!

Spent the better part of the morning touring your home. Beautiful! Every room just seems to flow into the other. Came back to this post and my comment is not there. I guess not only are leaves falling this time of year but.. Smiles... Your kitchen is a DREAM. Your hubby did good. Love the open shelves. The beadboard is terrific. The counters are awesome. The lamp at the end of the is unexpected and great. I love the Pottery Barn so guess that explains it...I love your kitchen. Enjoy... : BJ
