As an old home built in 1920 we did not have a main floor bathroom and our laundry was done in the basement. So after 6 years of trekking down to do wash or upstairs to go to the bathroom we decided to do the renovation to make room for this. After some thought the ideal place to add the bathroom was in the existing kitchen. A small kitchen at that was moved south ten feet and opened up to the dining area. We updated the kitchen by adding stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. A lot of DIY work and good deals kept the total cost to do both spaces under $11,000.
