We recently gutted our 1971 galley style kitchen to the studs. We removed the wall separating the kitchen and living room. We wanted an open and inviting space to entertain. We replaced the builder cabinets with new maple cabinets. Added a bar with storage and seating for more function. Desk area for the computer and bill paying. We had a tight budget to work with so we splurged on the floors and went with granite tiles for the counter tops. We love the way it turned out. We did all the work but the electrical. What a great bonding experience! LOL.
