I recently ripped all of the upper cabinets out of my entire kitchen. Crazy, I know. But after living in what felt like a dungeon, I wanted lighter and brighter. I definitely achieved it. And it only cost about $200.

I added a before picture. I also don't have stainless appliances yet because I had 4 kids in 5 years and there's always fingerprints all over stainless. Maybe some day with the babies grow up... :

I have 8 lower cabinets that house all of my pots and pans and plastic dishes for the kids. Otherwise, the glass mason jar cups and white dishes just to the left of the fridge are used every day by us. There's no reason why your every day dishes can't be pretty as well as functional right???

It looks gorgeous. And I was wondering about lack of cabinet space, but it looks like you have a deep and tall pantry there too. 5 stars! Oh, PS - SS appliances would look amazing in this kitchen, repeating the silver in the stools and elsewhere. But it's still a 5 star space.
