About This Space

This kitchen was totally redone by my honey and myself. The previous plywood cupboard doors which came with the house were replaced with unfinished mdf doors which we painted and glazed. With the addition of beadboard and other trims and accessories the kitchen has certainly come a long way!

brandehixson: I had those pinky-pickled type cupboards in my last home and I painted them. They turned out amazing! Dont' be afraid to paint them.. it would make a huge difference in your kitchen. Make sure you clean any grease off, then sand them lightly, use a good primer and then melamine paint for extra durability. You wont be sorry you painted them. I love your cabinets. I have wanted to do this for years, but too nervous. Was it difficult? I would love to now the process. My cabinets are pickled maple. Lots of pink in them. It really dates my home.
