A few years ago, my wife and I moved into our dream home in a dream neighborhood. Everything was great except the kitchen, which we thought was serviceable until we realized that the cabinets were turning to particle board dust and the drop ceiling was collapsing. We lived with it as long as we could, but a year ago finally bit the bullet and hired a designer. We knew and shared what we wanted, but when his designs came back they were way off the mark, and honestly way outside our budget. At that point, we took matters into our own hands and hired a contractor and went to a number of kitchen and tile stores for bids.

Surprisingly, what we found was that Home Depot (honestly had an amazing designer that really listened to us (patiently and shared some very cool new products. I know this is going to sound like a HD commercial, but we loved the results. We bought our appliances at a high end store and the farm sink at Ferguson, but this ended up being our dream kitchen without having to go crazy with custom.... We've sent (skeptical neighbors to HD since and they've yet to disappoint. It may just be our local design lady...who knows, but this just goes to show you that you don't have to go broke for an amazing space.

Beautiful kitchen. I love the colors. Its clean and airy. It isn't overdone and it has a combination of a shabby chic, French Country feel but not too much that appeals to both men and women. I am a kitchen fanatic. I think the look of the kitchen is right up there with the importance of the look of the master bedroom. Both are the two most important to me. Enjoy and thank you for sharing.

I think it is beautiful. It is neutral for resale with upgraded appliances and the layout is much much better. I would say you hit a home run.

Your kitchen remodel is absolutely beautiful! How wonderful to have so much counter space. The colors are beautiful - I love the cabinet color as well as backsplash and granite counters. Nice job!

Gorgeous Kitchen!!! After 10 years of planning we are finally going to begin our kitchen remodel --- I have been sifting back through all my magazines and online for "the look" that I like and think will go with my 1936 home.
Would you mind sharing the cabinet color information ?--- from the pictures it is difficult to tell if the cabinets are pure white, off white, beige, or antiqued ----

Thank you soooooo much! The backsplash is a white marble small subway tile (Carrera I think, but I am going to have to check on the paint color. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it's actually a light lavender/grey.
