I NEED HELP.. WE REMODELED OUR KITCHEN AND I HATE IT.. IT WAS DONE BY DESIGNERS THAT BOTCHED IT UP AND WILL NOT FIX THE MISTAKES.. AND YES WE ARE IN COURT!!! I WANTED THE HUTCH TO LOOK LIKE A PIECE OF FURNITURE AND GOT THAT UGLY THING!!!.. I HAVE 2 DIFFERENT COUNTERTOPS.. LOVE THE HAMMERED COPPER BUT HATE THE WOOD!! ANYONE WITH IDEAS HOW TO TIE THE COPPER AND REPLACE THE WOOD WITH SOMETHING SO THAT IT WORKS TOGETHER WITHOUT REPLACING THE EXPENSIVE COPPER??? THX I KNOW THIS IS A CHALLENGE!! I AM LOST FOR IDEAS AND WE ARE OUT OF MONEY!!!

It looks like they used a less than fine grade wood, looks like a lot of knot holes., construction grade?, You can re-stain ,the black stain suggested would work well as would picking a color from the copper. There are 80 different colors of stain, but you will have to remove the protective finish on them now, before it will take a new stain. "I really feel for you, as it looks like it was a great design idea.

Were you absent or out of town during the process? I can't believe they didn't ask your opinion of the wood before doing it and spending your money. And what IS that green stuff? I'd go with black, personally, to go with the copper. I didn't see a hutch in the photos - did you mean island?

Would it work to sand lightly and stain over with black transparent stain, it would add distress and character, but still show your wood grain through? It would tie in your sink. I would do counter and black splash?
What is the green color along the base?
