Need help with long boxy "eat in" Kitchen for a rental property. On a tight budget here so new appliances are out. Thinking about cabinet hardware, maybe hanging light, Any other ideas? should table go in center or at end by door, eek!

A kitchen island with counter stools. Pick ONE other color and accent with it. I would do a dark colored island. Then use a pop of color (pick one and run with it. What's your favorite color? :

Table probably goes smack in the middle. A round/oval one would save more space than a square/rectangular one. You don't want it near the door, because that would get in the way of traffic flow. Another space saver option is a banquet, that includes a bench along wall opposite kitchen or in a corner. Find that at local furniture store or online. Some styles include a bench that's upholstered so our back seat doesn't get sore after prolonged sitting! Ask landlord if you're allowed to hang wall art for a personal touch.
