kcanderson-most would not consider the space sterile. When you set out to redo your kitchen, you choose the appliances that are available and other than the standard stainless, white, black or paneled, it would be hard to be original in that area. Pretty standard with cabinetry, unless you have the funds to design something very out of the ordinary. Please if and when you redo your kitchen, won't you consider posting the pics on RMS. I surely would love to see your ideas for what is "original" and uncommon.

It appears to be a very nice kitchen and since the home owners like it that is really all that counts.
But like every other newly remodeled kitchen you see now days they really all look the same, same materials, same applinaces, same or similar lighting and that sterile not lived in look. A little imagination would be nice, just once.
