Your kitchen is beautiful! I'm redesigning my kitchen and the new layout is exactly like yours (cooktop/frig along the side wall, micro/oven along the back wall, although I plan to have a micro/oven combo and one under the cooktop. May I ask a couple questions?

How wide is the room (window wall to oven wall?

What is the distance from the oven to the island? One concern I have with my layout is opening the microwave door into someone's head! :

i love the mix n' match cabinet finishes, the dark finishes contrasted with the white trim. Love the light blue paint too that's a nice touch. Oh, and cute cat! :

Re: gosborn.... like you thought, my dbl ovens and microwave were done custom. I had the dbl ovens dropped down to the toe kicks which allowed for the microwave to be above them. I'm 5'6" and when I open my microwave the glass tray is at my eye level (62 inches from the floor. With all three units above each other the top of the microwave is 74 1/2 inches from the floor. I hope that helps. =

You gave me great advice on the staircase so I'm back for more. My construction is just getting started and I'm conferring with the cabinet maker. I like how you incorporated the microwave above the dbl ovn, about how tall did this make that area? I'm concrened it might be to tall. I'm guessing a custom guy did yours as well?

Re: mick50..... Actually what looks white/unfinished is the blue kitchen wall color. There's a thin wall built in there next to the double oven for the white upper cabinet and desk to be securely screwed into a stud wall. The oven unit wraps around the end of the thin wall, so it's flush with the wall front. =
