Thanks, hwest :. The rustoleum completely covers the wood and is a solid, unified color. The bond coat does not cover the texture of the grain - so the wood grain texture shows through while the color is completely opaque and solid - if that makes sense. If you use the glaze, then the glaze will highlight the texture of the wood grain even more. The product comes with a full satisfaction guarantee - so you could get it and try it on a test board and decide if it is right for you. First, it is beautiful! I really like what you have done. We have been thinking about the rustoleum for a while now and have tried the espresso on one door but didn't pull the trigger. We have Oak cabs as well that are very yellow also due to the laquer....so question...my concern with the rustoleum is that the cabs look painted vs stained. We have very pretty wood grain....did it completely cover up your wood grain?

Thanks, Millie Ruth! The top cabs are done in Rustoleum Linen. The Rustoleum representative recommended using Zinsser Coverstain primer when covering oak with a light color - because of the tannins in the wood that tend to bleed through - which were causing all of the yellowing in the finish before we began our project. So we used that as a base and then put the Linen on top of the primer. It was all very easy to work with, just took a while to complete all of the coats. Good luck with your cabinets!

Love the idea of buffet for coffee bar out of the kitchen. Want to paint my oak cabinets white---did you paint your top cabinets white? Does not look like linen rustoleum product.
