This is my 90's disaster kitchen that I have lived with for 20 years. It is going through the "while we're at it" syndrome. We started off with changing out the floors and are ending up with a remodel. My home was built in the 20's. I can't afford to take down walls and I can't afford new countertops. The pics show my current kitchen and the design shows the changes we are making. I currently have a peninsula that creates a "bottleneck" in the prep area. I am removing it and replacing with an island which will become my kitchen table. My kitchen does not get much natural light. I am looking at ivory cabinets w/ a darker wood for the island & possibly someplace else.My countertops are granite - uba tuba - a dark stone. Floors will be travertine - Philadelphia. I would love to hear thoughts on colors and design. Would you do two tone cabinets? I don't have much wiggle room but will give thought to comments.
