As for paint…Google images of “two-tone painted cabinets.” There are so many great color combinations for upper & lower cabinets that will help hide messy kid stuff.. Lol. Look for images that will have same floor as you want & copy colors & counter top to your spaces… If the cabinet frames are in good shape, have a cabinet shop create new doors & drawer fronts instead of replacing. It would be a lot cheaper.

Put in floor to ceiling pantry cabinets along office wall to the right in this photo…opposite the front of new fridge location... You’d be amazed at the amount of storage a wall of 12inch deep cabinets provides. Or use upper cabinets on top & bottom to save floor space and create cute hutch-furniture style piece with a mirror backsplash to add visual space? Add gray slate type tile with dark grout through both spaces to tie together.

How necessary is the office space? What if you widen the doorway to office…or remove wall almost completely…& swing fridge around behind dishwasher into office…so front of fridge & side of dishwasher would be next to each other kinda…? Utilize space to left of new fridge spot for built-in desk to match kitchen cabinetry? So it becomes an L-shaped kitchen…

We are right there with you, only we have no room to put a dishwasher either . . .
