  • In the fast lane headed to Contemporary, I hesitated to upload these pics. After the countless hours spent here on RMS I somehow forgot to get pictures before I started emptying cabinets and tearing the place apart. The clutter that you see is NOT usually on the counters, but IN the cabinets. Our fridge died last week, we already had plans to buy a new one AFTER the cabinets were installed, but it dictated our timeline for us. It is too big for the current space, so it is sitting out in the middle of the floor. Sleek Java finished cabs due in next week, Just finally decided on the countertops today, we are going with Kashmir White granite and a glass mosaic backsplash. I can't wait to get started!, Kitchens Design

New cabinets, granite countertops, hardwood floor and stainless appliances! My husband did all of the work so we were able to keep the project well under 10K. • From 80's Dysfunctional to Functional Pretty! , We went from particle board & laminate to solid maple and granite! And now I don't have to unload the dishwasher to the counter, close the dishwasher THEN put away dishes...Every cabinet is accessible even with the dishwasher open. (Clearly this was a big goal in the re-do).

The backsplash is tumbled marble with accent tiles I found on close out. Maybe a little specific to my taste, but the coloring matches the cabinet color beautifully. I made the curtain, the color ties in with the rest of the great-room., Kitchens Design

  • Candice Olson Inspired Kitchen, This contemporary kitchen was inspired by a Candice Olson design. There is a light and airy feel to this space because it opens up to the dining room but it also has 2 french doors that open up to a beautiful deck that adds living space outdoors. The wall colour is a Sarah Richardson colour by Para and the cabinets are Ikea. The two granite choices add interest to the space by complimenting the white and dark wood cabinets. This budget conscious kitchen is high on style even though it is low on cost. , Kitchens Design

  • Open it up!, Finally we got a chance to do a kitchen reno! This used to be a standard 10x10 L shape kitchen with old cabinets, white appliances and a 70's service window looking into the dinning and living rooms. We knocked out a whole wall used to be standing between foyer and the kitchen, by doing so we are able to create a simple/modern looking breakfast nook inside the kitchen.

Also, we enlarged the service window (to the biggest possible size) to create an airy and open feel of the entire space. By replacing all cabinets and appliances we gave our first-owned kitchen a brand new look., Kitchens Design

  • Grandma's country kitchen, Our kitchen needed a long overdue update. We had maple cabinets with formica. I have always loved flowers, the ocean, baking and dainty things. I am also a disney nut, hence the tinkerbell. This all inspired me, and after alot of research I decided upon a country look. My hubby painstakingly painted the cabinets, and a family friend also a master cabinetmaker made our custom island and the hood above our microwave. I tried very hard but could not stay away from the marble countertop. I am an avid baker and looking forward to lots of baking in my kitchen. My daughter and hubby use the stool we have at the island to be with me or help me while cooking. Love my new kitchen! Just waiting on new outlet covers and a rug for under the table.

  • Modern French Kitchen, A French kitchen with a slight modern twist. This room was redone back in 2007 and we still enjoy the renovations. We incorporated a lot of black and white (what we hope to carry to the dining room) and added some color by using green paint and green antique plates. The toile tablecloth and small leopard print rug add much needed depth and texture to differ from the granite counter tops., Kitchens Design
