Creative and unique use of this small space! The divider is interesting and something I've never seen before. Have you ever considered painting the white part black or leaving the white part white and painting the insert material black? Just a thought that might add depth, contrast, and extra interest. The right side of the space does seem to be too crowded. Personally, I would relocate the large scale wooden furniture piece and swing the seating area around into the corner. I would also work on the bookshelves. It appears they are able to be seen from the rest of the house since it's open concept and they are just a bit messy and overstuffed. Very good use of this little alcove!
