Thanks everyone!

I agree it's hard to find furniture like this today, which is why I started collecting these Gilbert Rohde pieces about 12 years ago. He did this collection, the Paldao Collection, for Herman Miller in 1941. He was influenced by the Surrealist art popular then, and these biomorphic shapes were the first furniture of this type ever produced! Of course after WWII, this freeform furniture really took off.
