I can't believe that in as little as 6-8 weeks we could have SNOW in this yard located at the base of the Wasatch mountains. My flowers look so beautiful that I just can't bear to think of it right now. ENJOY!

It is fantastic. The only think I woudl consider is making the center piece lighting as you enter mch larger. It is a formidable entrance and grand. The one hanging fixture feels a bit small. I think to continue the drama you could go much larger or a color perhaps.

I don't think I'd call it Tuscan but it's an interesting blend of arts and crafts French and post-and-beam. I am a stickler for cohesive fenestration so I would prefer not to have so many styles and colors of windows and trim. If you painted the door and sidelights and lower left window to match the arched window and smaller one it would look more a unified design.

Back yard and Wasatch Mountains 2008, The first photo was taken by my daughter with a better cameraand 3 weeks later than the rest of the photos were taken. 3 weeks and those fall leaves really make a difference in color. Wasatch backyard in winter, This is what my backyard looks like in the middle of January and a winter storm in comparison to what it looked like this past fall. I LOVE my greenhouse and yes those are geraniums blooming out there surrounded by snow. We got about 16 inches today. It is a little expensive to keep the greenhouse at a minumum of 59 degrees. I love to trek out there though. It is my winter respite from the cold and allows me to hope for spring. ENJOY!, Yards Design

Dining room dressed for FALL, I love simplicity clean lines and traditional. Look at my other spaces to see my kitchen that this dining area is attached to. I wish I could show you the view of the beautiful Wasatch Mtns. but a photo doesn't work. The dining room table is about 15 yrs. old. Our Do-It-Yourself Great Curb Appeal Home, When my husband and I decided to purchase a foreclosure as our first home we knew it would mean a lot of work, but despite our lack of any previous home improvement experience we were ready to roll up our sleeves and jump in!

The homes exterior was the last thing we decided to work on. Before, our house was definitely the sore thumb on the block. Everything was overgrown and flat worn out. Our brick looked tired and the forest green shutters were decidedly outdated. The landscaping was overgrown and poorly done. Everything blended together to create one big eyesore!

Now everything looks clean and fresh! Instead of screaming neglected it feels well-taken care of and inviting. We painted the existing trim, garage door, front door, shutters, and porch rails. We removed the partially there and partially missing spindles, added a beautiful wrought iron swing and some wicker furniture.

With the help of my mother's green thumb we created some gorgeous landscaping that included color!

Now when people drive by they stop and look for a GOOD reason! We just found out that we will be getting a new roof shortly too!! We are looking to install a slightly darker shingle when it's completed I'll be sure to post new pictures :), Home Exterior Design

Pls help me choose a roof, We're replacing the roof on our tudor style home and need some opinions on what material to use. The roof line meeting the brick has made it a difficult choice. The copper above the window also has to be replaced, so the green patina will be gone for a while. We're also considering two dormers on each side of the copper area, but placed higher. Does anyone think this will ruin the lines of the house? We already had all new windows installed (bay window not in yet) and they are a little darker than whats on the bay now. We'd like the roof to tie in our brick, new windows and wooden garage doors. We've put some samples of what's available on the roof, but have eliminated the two to the far left. We're really not open to something as contrasting as a gray or green roof. I know that we need to do some pruning and the table top pine is cutting our house in half, but it's too expensive to cut down., Home Exterior Design
