This is our Cottage in progress. I ve always had a vision for our home. I cant wait to put casement windows in the sunroom. My garden is also in progress. I always admire those cosy cottages with beautiful gardens and I think ohhhhhh how nice would that be to drive home to every day.:

The only thing that throws me off are the windows. I would either change the windows out so they all match in style or somehow make the modern windows look more like the older woodpain windows like the one on the left. Maybe more color with flowers too along the shrubs? =o

cozy cottage, THese pictures are no longer current. I have changed everything! We had the floors refinished! OMG I cant belive the difference! I have a new sofa, table and drapes. Our Do-It-Yourself Great Curb Appeal Home, When my husband and I decided to purchase a foreclosure as our first home we knew it would mean a lot of work, but despite our lack of any previous home improvement experience we were ready to roll up our sleeves and jump in!

The homes exterior was the last thing we decided to work on. Before, our house was definitely the sore thumb on the block. Everything was overgrown and flat worn out. Our brick looked tired and the forest green shutters were decidedly outdated. The landscaping was overgrown and poorly done. Everything blended together to create one big eyesore!

Now everything looks clean and fresh! Instead of screaming neglected it feels well-taken care of and inviting. We painted the existing trim, garage door, front door, shutters, and porch rails. We removed the partially there and partially missing spindles, added a beautiful wrought iron swing and some wicker furniture.

With the help of my mother's green thumb we created some gorgeous landscaping that included color!

Now when people drive by they stop and look for a GOOD reason! We just found out that we will be getting a new roof shortly too!! We are looking to install a slightly darker shingle when it's completed I'll be sure to post new pictures :), Home Exterior Design

Pls help me choose a roof, We're replacing the roof on our tudor style home and need some opinions on what material to use. The roof line meeting the brick has made it a difficult choice. The copper above the window also has to be replaced, so the green patina will be gone for a while. We're also considering two dormers on each side of the copper area, but placed higher. Does anyone think this will ruin the lines of the house? We already had all new windows installed (bay window not in yet) and they are a little darker than whats on the bay now. We'd like the roof to tie in our brick, new windows and wooden garage doors. We've put some samples of what's available on the roof, but have eliminated the two to the far left. We're really not open to something as contrasting as a gray or green roof. I know that we need to do some pruning and the table top pine is cutting our house in half, but it's too expensive to cut down., Home Exterior Design
