Suggestions are requested. Please look at our new Winter home on an island off of Charleston, South Carolina. Stucco with wood trim, and built by an artist in 1974, it is not the typical island look. The TV dish will come down, the roof shingles will be extended to the edge (cool look, but rotted the porch columns), the lights will be replaced and it needs painted. Should the columns be painted the field color, and reserve the roof lines and window frames for the trim color? It's not so easy, since most homes have 3 colors, field, trim and accent, and this one only has 2 ( the front door is not visable from the street). It is a very shady lot, so anything too dark, or too green would make the house dissappear. I'm leaning toward a sand colored field with slightly darker columns and a hard teal trim.
