Agree with other suggestions, remove rails, add big round columns or sq. maybe with stone on lower half, new bigger light. Not sure what color the house is but go to Home Depot or Lowes and look at paint swatches already coordinated with accent colors for shutter/door colors. Pay approx $ 75-100 for a landscape architect at the local nursery (Pike's in Atlanta area to give you a plan then do the work yourself. They see so much more and can make an impact. Worth every penny. Put a piece of wrought iron scroll over the garage door to coordinate with new door and add more detail. Good luck and definitely lots of oppty!

you have a lovely home and i love your new garage door. if you remove the porch railings, most definitely beef up the porch supports as they will become a focal architectural detail. i think whats really not working here is the landscaping. i'd love to see you remove the shrubs in front of the porch and window and in their place plant a perennial garden with flowering shrubs using a black mulch, which will add some life, color and lushness to the facade. also add some cushioned seats to the porch to make it look it more inviting. you seem to have alot of concrete to the right side.....i wish you had more pic's of that area. anyway, you could go with virtually any color on the shutters and door, but if you want to distract the eye from the concrete i'd go with something brighter to draw the eye to the house front...perhaps consider a regal shade of blue? or a rich red? you have many options but i'd wait to pick the color until you've picked new plantings. keep us posted!

I'm no expert but here are a few ideas you might like.Your house has lots of potential! I agree a new red (maybe darker red door would be pretty. Then maybe black shutters. I agree the railing taken out but maybe a thicker white pillar on the railing by the door. Then some nice furniture on the porch with some patterned outdoor pillows. Then maybe get 4 matching urns (black and fill them with colorful flowers-one by the new pillar and one on the other right across from it on the porch and 2 on either side of the garage doors. Maybe start over with the bushes to the left of the door. And lastly a window box on the far left window would be beautiful!! Good luck!

Iove your house. I think you should paint the front door a bold color...maybe red...it needs nothing else...in my opinion..
