Fall KY Home, Holidays Design
FLORIDA FAUX FALL, Everything down here in South Florida stays green pretty much all year long. Since I'm from up north [New Jersey] I tend to really miss being up north. To help give a little bit of that fall feeling for our townhome, I take it outside. These pictures were from last October, so they also have a hint of Halloween mixed in with fall - garlands, pumpkins and crows - most of which were picked up at BigLots over the past three yeras - except for the crows. I added those last year and picked them up at Micheals Craft Store for a fraction of the cost of Pottery Barn - but still get so much inspiration from PB! I tried to find more orange flowering plants (like mums or marigolds) but they do not like the FL sun & heat., Holidays Design
HALLOWEEN PARTY, I decorated the lunchroom & meeting room for 150+ associates at my former employers. It was also my last day there [after sixteen years] so I had 'fun' with it [and so did the associates!]. Keeping things on a budget, most items were picked up at BigLots & Party City - although some pieces I made. I cut and made the witch silhouette mounted on the white foamboard moon, I cut all the bats [both bat & witch from MarthaStewarts online templates] and I spray painted branches black to make centerpieces from $1 jack-o-lanterns [from Target] with spider rings and cobwebs. The RIP tombstones I aged with blk spraypaint & mounted old ad slogans (no longer in use) I printed on scroll-like paper. The forest was two 50' rolls from Party City. The chandelier was from Urban Outfitters (online) but came in damaged - so I had to cut & make replacement parts & I added the beads., Holidays Design
