Halloween, for me, is about magic and whimsy. I like decorating with a "Yester-year" style, using little witches and black cats, paper mache pumpkin heads and crate paper ruffles. My haunt, inside and out, is "little kid friendly" and I won't put anything up that will scare them.

Thanks for your great comments! The antique decor isn't really everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoy it very much. It's more challanging than "blood and guts".

halloween is my favorite holiday too, but I tend to "over do " it all...not in a tacky way, but i use BIG store displays that i used to reserve from big box stores and claim when they were through with the season...i do have a few vintage or vintage inspired pieces, but i just LOVE LOVE LOVE your fireplace display. You really took your stone background and made it into the most perfect display. I rated you a 5!

I love your decorations! Very cute and creative. I grew up in Ohio, moved to Salt Lake City last year (my husband's job and now we are back in the East (job transfer!. I LOVED Tai Pan Trading- it is probably my favorite store ever! There aren't any in the East, in fact I think there are only 3 altogether? I wish one would open out here!!!
