  • Leather & Nailhead Unique Upholstered King Headboard, This is a bedroom where I made upholstered wall panels (17 in total) and made them to resemble a brick wall. The fabric used was a faux leather and the nails were antique brass. All of the panels are hung individually on the wall to create this unusual but very dramatic headboard. The benefits are it is comfortable to lean against, they don't move or shift around, they absord sound (from my noisy neighbours) and they are also pleasing to the eye. My husband just loves the look and I am very pleased with my accomplishment. Your comments are appreciated!, Bedrooms Design

  • Hotel-like Master Bedroom Retreat, With three small children, my husband and I definitely deserve a restful, beautiful room. I created this space to feel sophisticated and elegant without being TOO ornate. The elegance of the furniture is balanced with the simple beauty of the lamps and mirror. My husband has to live in this room, too, so this is a nice balance of feminine and masculine by using black, leather and nail-head trim. The walls are Valspar's "Lighthouse Shadows". The ceiling is "Cream in My Coffee". Since the ceiling is vaulted, we added the molding to "bring the ceiling down" and create a cozier space. Painting the ceiling the same color as the upper wall helped complete this feel.
The bedding was surprisingly purchased at Walmart about 2 years ago. I made the curtains, wall monogram and headboard with a little muscle from hubby. I removed the original "matchy matchy" mirror on the dresser and added this large solid wood one from Homegoods - only $50! Other accessories in the room are from Marshalls, Target, Homegoods, Ross, etc. I successfully convinced my husband to take down the ceiling fan and put up the chandelier instead...bought at Home Depot.
I finally LOVE our bedroom and the feeling it brings us., Bedrooms Design

  • Master Bedroom With Ceiling Height Headboard, Here is my master bedroom that I have recently completed. I removed a sleigh bed which was taking up way too much space and added a new wall mounted headboard. I made a lot of the items in the room as well such as; headboard, cushions, bedskirt, draperies. The new chair and mirrors are from Pier 1 and the new area rug from Homesense. It has taken me 6 months and a lot work to finish this room. I find the room a very warm and relaxing space to be in. The new headboard is great because we can sit and lean against it with comfort and the headboard no longer moves or squeaks. Thanks for viewing my space and I hope that it will bring you some inspiration for your room., Bedrooms Design

  • Bedroom needs help, In five year I can't decide what color to paint my bedroom walls or how to decorate it. Do I try to make the windows look as one? I would love to have a romatic bedroom but don't know how to go about it. I have a head and footboard that matches our dressers but it is a queen size and our bed is a king size. This room is a good size and has so much potential if only I could figure out what to do with it. HELP! I am open to changing anything!, Bedrooms Design

  • New changes, I posted some pictures of my bedroom a few months ago and I just wanted to share the changes we are making, We still need to get and change a few things, like paint, bedding, art work, lighting, some kind of storage at the end of the bed, mirror etc. But it looks a lot better and I am very pleased with what we are achieving in a really tight budget. Thanks for looking and your comments.
Oh and please help me with the paint color, we are undecided if going with aqua or beige or both ( but not sure if painting one focal wall will make the room smaller), and paint that aqua in the bathroom!!, Bedrooms Design

  • Headboard Heaven in my Guest Haven, This is my 12 x 15 guest room with 4 x 5 walk in closet. The doorway wall was severely damaged during the home move. With a budget of under $1000, I repaired, taped, textured and painted the walls, replaced old carpet with laminate, painted all the trim and doors, added a bookshelf headboard and bought all new bedding. I reused the old maple veneer dresser and nightstands by adding a couple coats of Espresso paint. Two new inexpensive lamps were the final purchase...total cost $700!, Bedrooms Design
