I found a wonderful cement planter for only a $1.00 at a yard sale this summer. I brought it home and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. One day my two granddaughters came for a visit and to give them something to do I decided we were going to collect rocks from my yard to build a stand for my $1.00 planter. My husband built me a frame with chicken wire to build my stand. The base of the stand is a 24 inch cement paver which supported the frame and rocks that were mortar together around the frame. The top of the stand is 12 inch cement paver which holds the planter. The whole project along with supplies and the aster plant for the planter cost around $15.00. What makes this project so special is my two little granddaughters helped with the collection of the rocks and felt like they helped with the project.
