A Roman Rose Garden - This area was achieved by excavating the lower level of the courtyard. The idea for this wonderous space was totally my husbands. He described what he wanted and a friend drew it up on a napkin. My husband spent the summer of 2004 with friends creating this space. The columns are round concrete blocks with poured centers. The Lentils were constructed out of pressure treated wood covered with "quick art" a plaster type product. The columns were then covered with a sand finished stucco. The effect of night lights is the result of "tiki torches" which surround the area.
