can-do: I would love to see the results of your studio transformation.

whirlygig: I did change out the garage doors. I put in 2 french doors so it brings in tons of light. Also, in my last studio I did do the flat peel & stick type tiles and I love them except for the light color was a pain to clean.

holliepd: I did add heating/ac. There was a 4" rise in the back of the garage. I had it enclosed and made it into storage and where the h/ac unit is. It I remember correctly is cost about $4000. It is pricey but well worth it. My last studio wasn't heated or cooled well and it was less than inspirational to create.

it'sjustme2: Yes, a garage is intended for parking cars. But, I needed a workspace more than I needed a covered car space. Priorities. And I live on 25 acres so I have room for the cars on the property and plan on building a garage at some point

i'm jealous! you've presented such great ideas for organizing your workspace - thanks! i love how you have the space broken into areas for various tasks and i imagine that really speeds your creative process when the inspiration strikes. love the real tile floor, but if the garage floor were in good shape, an acid wash or even peel and stick tiles might work just as well. your creativity and talent has served you well! i couldn't tell from the photos or captions - did you change out the original garage door? thanks so much for sharing!

I love this and would like to do this with my garage; did you add heating and cooling? If so, what was the cost of that? In Texas, i'd need to do that! Also, my garage has no windows, so i'd have to add that as well. Any advice is helpful. Thanks.

I absolutely love it! I wish my studio were closer to home - maybe I need to start looking at my garage and it's potential! I love all the separate areas for each area of creative. I also love the colors you chose. I wish I could come play in your studio!!

DianaHubb - I got the sectional from IKEA. It's in their leather section and comes in at least one other color. I love this couch. It is the perfect work couch. Since I have a lot of different materials in the studio I wanted something that wiped down well. This is great. Also, the low back profile, wide arms and back are great for working on. I set up my laptop or books on them and use as extra work surfaces. The chaise part is cool too. I kinda wondered how that would work but it is perfect. I would definitely buy this couch again.
