  • "New York Loft" in a Fraternity House, I am a musical theatre major at U of Tulsa and am from the South so I worked really hard at mixing the love of theatre & New York with the style of the south. The colors of the room the crown molding on the ceiling and floors & the rich hardwood floors really help give the atmosphere a Southern comfortable feel. In contrast to that which helps to give the room that "New York" feel is the dark clean lined furniture the sleek lighting the lofted/hanging bed & of course the tin ceiling. , Dorm Rooms Design

  • Fairy Garden, After starting to build my children's tree house village, I looked down and thought, If I want this to be a truly magical place, I would like to see something magical everywhere! My friend Beth Nichols and I decided to create a Fairy Garden to encourage a magical experience! Our tree houses are still being built (as you may see some construction materials in the background of my photos), but I feel that the garden is well done! • Birthday Project, My sister and I made over my Dad's room for his birthday. It's my VERY first time doing anything like this, so please keep criticism kind! I am open to suggestions for next time, and we are still going to make small changes, like new dressers, a new nightstand, maybe some sheers, and something to go on the wall above the bed. The first few pictures should be the before... anything with terrible reddish sponged walls is before if not! As if you can't tell..., Bedrooms Design

  • Zebra, Paisley and Lime - OH MY!, This is my 10 year old daughters new bedroom. I selected the material for the bedding and curtains at a local fabric store and my mother made the items. I must say, it turned out gorgeous! The bed was a $60 find at a local thrift store. With a little TLC, the bed turne out better than I could have imagined as well. The only thing is that they advertised it as a full size. After we got the bed in the room, we realized it was a queen.... This took a little effort to convert to a full. I painted the art on the walls and purchased the mirrored night stands from Target. The desk was a resalvaged piece that also needed TLC along with the chest of drawers. We are still in the process of building zebra boxes for the top drawer (the top drawer was missing so we got the chest for $7!) My daughter cried with happines when she came home and seen her new room on her birthday. Let us know what you think!, Girls' Rooms Design

  • Living Room Harris House, This is the Living Room. The doors to both this room, and into the dining room are about 50 inches wide. We removed the doors and stored them in garage attic. This room also features top and bottom frame moldings. The room boasts an arts and crafts styled wallpaper with shades of blue, green and terra-cotta on a cream background.

In front of you are french doors to the Sun Room. To the right of the door is a Victorian bow-front curio cabinet, which holds my matte finish Lladro figurine collection. Over the curio hangs a landscape of the Noland Trail in Autumn painted by my aunt, Martha Brogley.

The wall to the right holds two windows draped with rosy terra-cotta moirè swags, and asymmetrical jabots, with cream moirè linings. On the wall is an antique German regulator clock., Living Rooms Design

  • Our Christmas Home!, We love Christmas so much so I try to make the house as warm and cozy as possible during Christmas. I often have people say that they would love to come visit me and bake cookies when they see pictures so I feel like I am getting the look I am going for for the most part. Our house is very small (less than 1300 sqft) so it can be tough to fit in all that I wish I could but I do my best. Excuse the old tv! That is the one part of the room we need to update more than anything...haha I would love to buy a fireplace and a a tv to hang above it for that wall! That would really help complete the space for me., Holidays Design

  • Bonus Room Boredom, How boring! This 16 X 14 bonus room is the only space in our house that we can't seem to make our own, yet it's where we spend the majority of our time together! It lacks style, has very little functionality and is just plain drab. We feel that the rest of our house has the style, comfort, and openess that we want to project but this room is where we spend our down time together with our lovable border collie, Panda. The trouble is that the room is located immediately at the top of the stairs so it's the first room you see. The challeng is that it's oddly shaped with vaulted ceilings, two windows on one wall, and a closet on the other. It's definitely a decorating delimma that we can't seem to master. Help! , Other Spaces Design
