Reservations required for Le Cafe Wolfsburgo. : Hello everyone these are some pictures from my "garbage" dinette set in my kitchen. I didn't go too formal but indeed tried to make it look elegant and "wintery." Should I leave this tablescape for when I have showings/open houses since my house is on the market? Please comment! Thanks! ...:::Wolfsburgo

This is a work in progress. A new chandelier and window valances are coming up. The color on the upper walls is Sherwin Williams "Bagel". The carpet background is eggplant with multicolored leaves/flowers. The floors are a pale maple. I need ideas as to what colors to use for the valances. The carpet and plates are my inspiration. Thank you for your comments!

This is my formal dining room. It is very modern. It includes hardwood flooring and Italian furniture imported from Italy. The grandfather clock and curio cabinet were handmade in the Black Forest in Germany, and the china cabinet is a Howard Miller.

Formal dining room with large table can seat 14. The chairs as you can see in one of the photos have been recovered it is quick and easy to recover and add the rope. I always have a theme on the table depending on the time of the year. At the moment it is set for Thanksgiving. I recently hosted a wine and cheese party and some of the pictures reflect the tablescape I set I chose gold and burgandy the material was $1 per yard.

The dining room in our house is fairly small at 12' x 12'. The ceilings are 12' high...so its pretty much a cube. Therefore, when shopping for furniture, we decided a square pub-height table was the best route. Although off the foyer, and deemed a "formal dining," we needed the room to function also as an everyday eating space. The pub-height table keeps the room practical, while 10' dupioni silk drapes draw your eye up to the great crown molding. A merlot-colored silk cord cover I picked up at a craft store dressed up the existing iron chandelier. The walls are painted in BEHR Italian Olive. Ashley "Rowley Creek" dining set. Lighting by Quorum.

There is hardly a new piece in my home; mostly second-hand collectibles and great garage sale finds. I hope I get some helpful feedback on my eclectic taste.

Our kitchen had been partially renovated when we bought the house---that is the appliances had been replaced and the counters were new mahogany blue eyes granite--- but the cabinets were still pickled pine. We kept the cabinets boxes themselves and had new wooden doors made and lacquered a creamy white. The wood floor was refinished a fruitwood color to better matche the adjacent living area. Beaded board on the breakfast bar and bookshelf and new corbels finished out the job.

We updated our formal dining room. The house came with this 14 x 20 rug (that we kept and used as a color reference. The room was covered in wallpaper that we removed. The wall treatment was done by using the same color of paint and stripping in flat and high gloss. Still have some decorating to do, but am happy with the make-over.
