  • Dual Purpose Dining Room - "Before" picture added!, Our formal dining room has always been a "special occasion" room and is only used a few times a year but we love the idea of taking a small space and making it multi-functional so we took two of our old bookcases and my husband built a "cap" to make it appear as if it was one unit. We added some of our favorite books and a few personal touches and now it is a room that we can enjoy all year long! The color is Benjamin Moore - Wedgewood Gray.

  • Victorian Charm in Maine, Our living room is Victorian style in keeping with our home's design. The furniture is all auction and flea market finds that my wife and I TLC'd and re-uhpolstered. Most of the accent pieces and art were also auction flea market and antique store finds. My wife Mary Anne has an amazing eye for style design and color. And if it's on an old home I can make it look pretty again. Mary Anne points and says "fix it" and off I go!, Living Rooms Design

  • So, with all the suggestions, I need help choosing a new couch style..which of these will work?, This is a combo room that has been difficult to decorate. For now we've added simple panels until budget allows and we can find just the right drapery fabric, wood rods and bamboo blinds. It still doesn't look 'right' to me and I'm having a tough time with the tablescape...feedback is appreciated! What do you think of the ceiling we just did?, Living Rooms Design

  • yvonne's space, THis is my dining room. The walls were white when we moved in. The window is actually very small. I made it appear to be more imposing by making large drape on a long curtain rod. The rods actually are two feet longer than the window on each side., Dining Rooms Design

  • Small dining in style..., Even though there are so many pretty woods and stains out today we thought it would look best to coordinate with the oak hardwood floors that were already in the house. Also because the room is small & lacked cupboard space we decided to create a breakfast nook with storage underneath. They're actually 3 coffee tables set side-by-side! We also installed a small fridge in the dining room which has made entertaining really easy., Dining Rooms Design

  • Traditional dining room...in progress, Just moved a few months ago. Wish I had taken 'before' photos. Our newly updated (and still very much in progress) traditional dining room is off of the kitchen and connects to our living room. The granite-topped buffet, slip-covered chairs and dimming chandelier are a start to what I am hoping to become an elegant and inviting dining room. Still trying to decide on what to hang on empty wall opposite of buffet..., Dining Rooms Design
