  • Folk Art Cottage Living Room, We live in a modern cottage-style house that we built in 2002 from home plans that we found in a magazine at the grocery store. We ordered the plans and then discovered that the main living area was vaulted -- 22 feet. Not quite the cottage feel, but we added tongue and groove boards to the ceiling and hung two old quilts with similar colors and a wood log cabin quilt that I made from painted and cut lattice strips glued onto a plywood backing on the high walls. I've also used other folk art items that I've made in the space. This area is also open to my kitchen, sunroom and dining room and on the other side of the windows is a porch that we recently converted to a four season room (I'll add photos later of other rooms.)., Living Rooms Design
