After Wilma hit there were many hours of fixing replanting painting staining etc. The inside needed to be done but finally the outside was finished. Love it! Even better than before!

I started working on my front yard garden in June. This front yard needs alot of attention. The grass doen't grow well and the soil is mostly sand. I will be able to trim the azeales back in the fall which I hope will help with the massive difference in size. It is a work in progress but I have really enjoyed it. I hope you come back. I will update as I go along.

The soil in South Florida can be too rocky for home gardening. A quick an easy way to update and refresh to the look of the outdoors is with container gardening. Painted pots, pops of color, and stones, helped define our town-home's garden area.

After sharing so many individual spaces here on Rate My Space throughout the years, here is a "Home Tour" of our Florida Townhome when we sold to move / relocate to Arizona. The house was listed on the first week of October 2011 - It had about 5 veiwings, plus three offers that same week. By the end of October, the townhome had sold, and I packed us up for our journey to Arizona [hubs job relocation]. Unfortunately, it was a short-sale... but at least it wasn't on the market long at all [esp. during the peak of the weak market]. I truly believe not just clearing the clutter & depersonalizing [removing personal photos] but Life- Styling the house [during Fall] to the 'Miami Market' , along clean curb appeal, organized closets and creating a comfortable outdoor living space helped tremendously. The Realtor was from Better Homes and Gardens Realty: He hired a local professional photographer for the wide angle shots. enJOY!

These are the screened porches and decks from the Summer Dream Vacation Home we won from MyHomeIdeas.com . It was the 2008 WindMark Idea House, and now is a vacation rental in WindMark Beach along Northwest Florida's Forgotten Coast. The furniture was provided to us from Frontgate. Dale Trice was the designer with only minor touches provided by us.

This is a 2nd story addition and energy efficient build. We need to be safe from hurricanes and not waste money cooling our home. We shaded windows on the N & S and eliminated all but 1 on the E & W face. Major insulation, cement block construction and hurricane protection on the windows. mostly gas appliances and tankless water heater to boot!

This is a bedroom for my daughters. they are 8 and 3 so it was hard to find something that would cover them both. i had a VERY TIGHT budget. the most expensive thing i bought was the paint.

Mural of fairies, flowers, castle and even a growth chart cover the pale pink walls for my daughter's nursery. Curtains were made from Laura Ashley's Fairy fabric. The blue denim chair was actually from my son's nursery, but it fits well in this room too. Added baskets for storage of diapers and toys. I think this room's motiff should last her for the next few years because we all know how little girls love fairies and princesses.

This is a recent dinner party for my Mah Jongg friends at my daughters home. We used Ralph Lauren dishes with bright pink flowers. We had cookies made at local bakery to look like MJ tiles. They made great favors. These ideas would be good for Spring or Easter just changing the cookies. Fun was had by all
