  • My dream kitchen, Hi, thanks for stopping by. I'm Debbie Beitzell Taylor and this is my first remodel. I am not a pro, I just love to play at it. Our home is under 1300 sq ft, but we love to entertain. My small cramped kitchen/ dining room lacked useable work space. We really wanted to create a space that was warm and inviting, a place friends and family would gather and enjoy each others company. We wanted it to be the center of the home. After getting rid of a window and fireplace and adding an island and doubling the counter and cupboards my kitchen is a joy to work in. We are looking forward to hosting many parties in the years to come. It now has 2 pantries, a baking station, a floor to ceiling appliance garage, a floor to ceiling spice cabinet., lazy Susan in the corner, dedicated spaces for trays and bake ware. stainless steel appliances and sink, a garbage and recycle center, a five burner gas stove top by Bosch, 2 niches above counters for propping cookbooks etc, a cookbook cabinet, travertine back splash, Madura Gold granite counters, porcelain tile floor for easy clean up, tray ceiling over the island, crown molding, recessed dimmable LED lighting, dimmable under counter lighting, stereo speakers in the ceiling.... ahhhhhhh mom's a happy camper., Kitchens Design

  • Fat Chef Work In Progress, I am still working on my space. Just bought a new house that I am in love with. Would love to paint although I am a little scared? The kitchen is open to the living room and I do not want things to clash. Was thinking of a deep mustard shade of yelllow paint or perhaps a glass tile backsplash. , Kitchens Design

  • Italian Chef Kitchen , This is our Italian Fat Chef kitchen. I love the pillars with the vaulted ceiling. I think we've done a good job with the decorations. And with the black marble back splash. I just wonder if it lacks a paint color. I want to keep the pillars white and paint another color to help them stand out. But I'm not sure. I've thought about putting rock on the pillars. But I don't know if I can go half way up and stop or if I need to do the whole thing, Kitchens Design

  • Dreaming of French Country Picnics, French country picnic tablescape. It won't be long before we can start enjoying picnics again, but until it warms up there is no reason not to enjoy an indoor picnic. The little chef is holding a clock. that is pointing to 12 noon, lunch time! I used bright happy colors to say, "Winter you've been banished till next year"! :-) The last photos show the kitchen side of the room., Kitchens Design

  • Master Bathroom Remodel-for $83!!, Our home was built in 1970 and it is most apparent in our bathrooms. Our master bath was very 70's retro with lavender speckled tile on the walls and small lavender tile on the floor. The vanity was an old off white laminate and the mirror was old and boring as well. I hated going into the room and would never use it because it made me cringe when I walked through the door! I repainted the wall tile white, painted the walls a warm caramel color and placed vinyl tiles over the gross tile. I then repainted the vanity, counter top and framed out the mirror. Total cost: $83! It's a whole new room don't you think!!, Bathrooms Design
