  • Emmy's Parisian Chic Nursery, When my husband and I found out we were having a little girl, my wheels immediately started spinning and construction began! I have always loved wainscot, so that was the first DIY project my husband tackled. I maximized space by setting the armoire caddy-corner with a changing station to the left and the crib directly on the opposing wall. The glider and ottoman is also caddy corner next to the changing station. I found an antique mahogany two-tier table with scallop edging from Craigslist -$50- and refinished it in a black pearl stain with gold etching and tulip flowers with the letter M for Baby Morgan. The picture-in-picture was a design inspiration that my mom found in an interior decor magazine. We replicated the idea, wallpapering each of the inside panels bordered with molding, and placed vintage pictures that have been with my family for several years. On the 'changing station' wall, the other two picture-in-pictures have wired vintage figures of a manikin silhouette and Eiffel tower for that Parisian flare. My mother-in-law made all the bedding, drapery, and diaper hanging sack from fabric we picked out a local fabric warehouse in Buena Park, CA. The crib cornice and curtain tie backs were a great find at the Princess Canopy Shop on Etsy. They are stained in black pearl with brass/gold etching. My husband designed the M monogram and had it carved for under $40. I bought the hanging chandelier on closeout with black shades and matching pink bows were tied using the leftover pink satin bedding fabric. The furniture was purchased locally and the lamp was purchased on clearance at Tuesday Morning -$50-. I shopped around for the rug after finding that on an interior design website, I bought it for 50% less than retail from BoldRugs.com after they price matched another competitors price. The crib mobile was purchased on target.com., Nurseries Design

  • Serenity Botanical Tower on frosty Virginia morning, My wife and I try to take time each evening to slow down for a few minutes and enjoy the solitude of our courtyard garden. We light the lanterns in our Botanical Tower at dusk, as a nod to the day's accomplishments and challenges, and we enjoy the ambiance of the candlelight as the evening sets in. We may not sit out every night, but the candles get lit, whether it's rain, snow, or clear evening skies.

  • Princess room for three, We lost our son and daughter in law in Oct. 2012 and found we would be sharing in the raising of our three grand-daughters. We wanted them to feel overwhelming love and have a magical place to just be little girls and let their imagination run free. The castle was born! We created this room with mostly recycled furniture and some wood and about 5 gallons of paint. We think it came out beautiful. Three tone walls, custom bed, and darling chandelier, make this room a magical spot in our home. , Girls' Rooms Design

  • The tower castle room ... in our 174 year old home., I tiled the hearth and fireplace, created faux stone walls and painted all the wood trim warm brown. I refinished most of the pieces in this space myself. I found the bed for $I99.00 and even with the mattress purchase I spent only $1,005.00 on this room makeover. There were only a few items left in this room after my mother passed away and the hospital equipment was removed. I have made some additional changes to this space. The rug in front of the fireplace was actually my step son's rug where he would set and play.... it's gone. I have gotten new rusty rag type rugs for each side of the bed. I need to take new pictures but I love the light in these! I did all the work here myself and created a "Harry Potter" castle room feel that is fit for a 12 yr old or the most sophisticated guest. There is a "spa" room off this room that has a fold away massage table and all the trimmings for manicures, pedicures and facials along with a day bed for additional guests., Bedrooms Design

  • City of Love for the master, After renovating the whole house, we decided to do a city theme for each living space. The first room to have a theme was our master bedroom. I saw a huge canvas of the Eiffel Tower and the ideas came after that. We wanted to maintain the same colors we used throughout, and decided on a flat olive in our room to offset the rest of the house. , Bedrooms Design

  • New Tuscan Facade from old Ranch, The family wanted to make the outside of their home match the decor on the inside. We wanted to really make a bold change to their existing ranch style home and carry the Tuscan theme throughout. Lastly the old garage door was replaced with a new insulated steel door that had a carriage look to it., Home Exterior Design
